Keywords are nouns you can prove
ATS search is closer to a library catalog than to a vibe check. If the posting asks for Salesforce and you used HubSpot, say HubSpot. If you used both, list both. Do not invent Salesforce to win a filter you will fail in week one.
Soft skills (“communication”) rarely move an ATS ranker compared with named systems. Put the systems first.
Build a master list, then a per-job slice

Should I copy the whole job description into my resume?
No. Mirror distinctive terms you can defend. Stuffing the posting verbatim is easy to spot and can backfire in interviews.
