Academic CV builder
Academic CV builder — publications, teaching, grants
A resume is a one- or two-page job application document; a CV (curriculum vitae) is a longer academic record of publications, research, teaching, and grants. Academic CVs are Pro on FreeResume.me. One resume PDF stays free and unwatermarked.
A CV (curriculum vitae) is not the same as a one-page résumé. CVs are used in academia, research, medicine, and many international job markets where a full record of publications, grants, teaching, and conference activity matters. If you are applying for faculty roles, postdoctoral positions, graduate programs, or research-heavy industry jobs, you need a document that can grow beyond a single page without breaking formatting.
FreeResume.me's CV builder is built for that longer-form structure. Add education with thesis details, list peer-reviewed publications and preprints, capture grants and fellowships, document teaching and supervision, and include professional service — all in a section-by-section editor with a live preview. Switch between academic templates (Classic Academic and Modern Academic) without re-entering your content.
Unlike subscription CV tools that lock PDF export behind a paywall for a short resume, FreeResume.me keeps one resume PDF free. Academic CVs — the long publication record — are Pro. Create an account to save documents; see /pricing for Free vs Pro.
